This book has been designed to help create fairy and folklore stories for and by children. Every letter of the alphabet has a corresponding creature, location or item. This is supported by four questions that can be asked to the reader. This book encourages creative thinking, communication, visualisation and storytelling.

All ages three and upwards can use this, regardless of education level.

How to use this book

You can read through the alphabet or play the story game.

STORY GAME RULES

1. Pick any word. The longer the word, the longer the story is created.

1. Go to the letters of your chosen word, then turn to the page corresponding to that letter. Encourage your reader to make a story using the items, characters or locations. Use one or all questions to prompt ideas.

These stories can be told or written depending on the age playing.

Other uses

You can also use this book to help you memorise spelling by linking the story created back to the words.
