The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) owns and operates a vast system of educational institutions across the nation. All who work in and for these schools can be compared to one large family.

This family has its own traditions, customs, and beliefs that can prove confusing to uninitiated newcomers.

This book is written to give those new to Lutheran education a basic overview of the history, doctrine, and expectations of the LCMS education family.
