The Moment Just Before is an invitation — a gentle hand on your shoulder asking you to slow down, breathe, and return to the spaces inside yourself that life has pulled you away from. In these poems, I walk with you into the quiet places between thought and action, shadow and light, grief and grace. It is in these in-between spaces — the moment just before things change — that something true inside you is always becoming. This book is my way of helping you remember that place.

Across these pages, I share the lessons I’ve gathered from standing by the water, listening to the wind, watching snow fall, holding grief in my hands, and finding love in unexpected moments. I wrote these poems after years of running too fast, giving too much, and forgetting to see myself. Writing became a way home — a way back to my own breath, my own truth, my own heart. And now, through The Moment Just Before and through my wider creative world, Our Way Home, I’m offering you that same path.
