This document relates directly to the Bargarran Witchcraft Trails that happened in Paisley in 1697. It was published in 1697 and is one of the earliest records of what happened. Published in London, this transcription of the original pamphlet has stayed true to the original language of 1697, with the spelling of names and language of the time. Although this may be hard to read at first, you soon begin to understand the language of the day.
The document describes the confessions of three of children accused of tormenting Christian Shaw of Bargarran and with many other individuals during the Bargarran Witchhunt of 1697 in Renfrewshire Scotland. The confessions of Elizabeth Anderson along with brothers James and Thoms Lindsay suggest that there is a lot more to understand in this story than the myths that have developed over time.
