Princess Rio: A Romantic Fantasy (Romances of The Chivalrous, Band 1) - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

King Aldis sends his eldest girl, Princess Rio, far away to marry a crown prince but she doesn't want to go. Travel is dangerous and Marauders lurk, but it's not them she fears, it's marrying a stranger and stepping into the unknown.

The king of tiny but strategic mountain kingdom of Asprei has allied with the powerful country of Zastrona. He will trade control of the only mountain pass to the north in return for military help against the orc kingdom of the Marauders, a warlike, vicious race that want Asprei for themselves.

Princess Rio is part of the deal. She is pledged to marry Crown Prince Geoff in exchange for troops to strengthen Asprei's defences. The king and queen tell Rio that by sacrificing herself, she keeps her beloved family and her countrymen safe.

There are many hopefuls for Prince Geoff's hand. Handsome, lordly and charming, he will be King of Zastrona one day and his bride will become queen. Beautiful and scheming Lady Floriana wants to be that queen. The prince likes her and her father is a powerful lord, close to the king, Geoff's father. She only has to get Geoff to fall in love with her. It should be easy enough, provided a rival doesn't get in her way.

When Rio arrives,Floriana takes an instant dislike to her and worse, she's is best friends with Geoff's only sister. But Princess Rio is ignorant of this. She only knows that she is brave and noble by sacrificing her own future to protect her country and she's taking a leap into the unknown.

What does her new role and new country hold for her? Is her future husband cruel or kind? Will he like her, or will he break her body and her heart?
