This book contains 24 short poems written in simple Greek and is suitable for beginners. Each poem is followed by an English translation. Poetry is a means of gaining a deeper comprehension of the language and an understanding of how it can be used by native speakers. The poems repeat basic words and phrases necessary for the first levels of the language. Each poem is written in rhyme, which facilitates the memorization of words and stimulates the imagination. For some words that do not belong to the beginner's level, their corresponding synonyms are given.

The poems are divided into six thematic sections (seasons, professions, colors, emotions, animals, and capital cities). Each section contains four poems.
