Sailing in Place: Our Life Afloat in Southeast Alaska's Archipelago
Anke and I have been sailing the archipelago of Southeast Alaska for three decades. Among its remote and wild islands, we sail engine-free by wind and water, brain and brawn, living the year round aboard vessels of our own design and construction. Foraging wild foods, fuel and materials keeps us independent on a minimal budget.
This book isn't so much an account of our adventures, but of the self-sufficient sailing lifestyle we've cultivated. We share insights, attitudes, and practical tips that have kept us afloat blow high, blow low. And spin a few yarns along the way.
We are Jack and Jill of many trades but masters of none, and our life remains a work in progress. Accordingly, we offer neither should nor shouldn't, but rather options for your consideration. Rules-of-thumb that anyone can apply.
We're everyday people living our dream as lifestyle. If we can do it, so can you!
So c'mon aboard! Let's tip a cup o' kindness!!
