Athena is a high school graduate expected to attend Bowling Green State University the following Fall. She is excited to meet new people, join clubs that interest her, and party. There is just one problem: her boyfriend Giovanni is trying to convince her not to attend college, hoping she will stay home instead.

Their relationship started great. He takes her out on dates, compliments her constantly, and gives her cute gifts. As their relationship progresses, Giovanni's past starts to haunt him and he takes all of it out on Athena. Out of nowhere, he begins physically abusing and yelling at her constantly.

With Athena going away to college she hopes that she can break up with Giovanni easily and that she will finally be free.
