Unexpectedly, he gets caught up in the lives of a beautiful young woman, Ashley Scott, and her mother Anne, who's inherited a notorious bar, unknowingly indebted to a Reno Casino Gangster.

But as Ashley becomes drawn to Alan, the Dude Ranch and its beautiful Painted Horses, Alan's life takes on new meaning, helping her and Anne begin a new a chapter, apart from their ugly past.

Then, without warning, the Gangster threat turns personal and deadly. The ride becomes a wild romp of wits and skill verses power and brawn, as the ex-sniper Gunslinger and his Cowboys take on the Casino Gangsters and their henchmen . . . a force that's willing to stop at nothing to wipe them all out.

In the process, Alan's past catches up with him as his brother, a Top Casino Boss in Las Vegas, is drawn into the fray.

The Reno guys realize this and initially lay off Alan, but then a lower Level Reno player gets pissed and forces a gang war. Now it's Reno verses Las Vegas.

In the mean-time Alan has become infatuated with Ashley's divorced mother, Anne Scott. While Ashley herself gets exposed to the daily rough and tumble side of the ranch, falling in love with a Painted Horse named 'Cochise'.

Many twists and turns follow the protagonists in this Modern Cowboy Thriller, as they ride, fight, and discover treasures in the high plains of Pyramid Mountain, Nevada.
