THE POET AND THE WONDERSMITH is a classic battle between good and evil. A young boy convinces his busy and reluctant father to venture into a world of strange creatures, a barren wasteland ruled by a greedy and treacherous king. They bring with them the technical skills and scientific knowledge of the father, a Wondersmith, the creative aed musical talents of his son the poet, and the magic of his gifted mother to do battle with the powerful forces of fire, deception and greed in the Underworld. The story is based on an Irish myth, showing that superheroes have existed since the beginning of time and that superhero qualities may rise to the fore in unexpected ways when good people overcome the forces of evil. Escape reality atop a dragon with writer Joseph Cavanaugh and Irish illustrator Shelly Mooney. This adventurous fun tale will keep the reader engaged all the way to the happy ending.

Joe Cavanaugh is a poet, author, playwright and publisher living in Ormond Beach, Florida, with his artist-wife Shirley and his faithful companion Buster. He is currently the President of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies and is the former President of the Florida State Poetry Association. He recently founded Buster Bodhi Press with partner Mark Andrew James Terry.He has published seven books, including four of poetry. His most recent book, available on Amazon, is THE POET AND THE WONDERSMITH, a children's book. He is the author and producer of KEEPERS OF THE DREAM, a play performed in February of this year at Stetson University celebrating Black History Month.
