Belief wakes up in a hospital mortuary about to have a Post Mortem.

As a child, Belief's dreams are strange. They are of a world on the other side of the vale, a world of death. Shortly after her near death experience, she discovers that her childhood dream are true, not only does she walk through the vale, she dies in her sleep and brings souls from the world of the living to the vale of Otherworld, the world of Reapers.

Living as a normal person whilst awake, she has a pretty, and very sarcastic girlfriend. Belief works as a teacher in a local college.

Belief is shocked to discover more about her family, her mother a wealthy lady, living in Germany tells Belief the tragic story of a childless couple who made a deal with the fates. After all her life believing her father had died, she discovers she has a Father and a twin brother, both living in the 'Reaper' world.

Hans her father, is the Grim Reaper.

As the story unfolds, Belief finds the love of her life in the land of the living, so becomes torn by both worlds. She also has to cope living in both worlds, trying to find comfort as she walks those who have passed into the vale of death.
