Booth Thompson was a reasonable man - he was a good husband, caring father and was well respected in his career in law enforcement. That all ended the moment that a drunk driver crashed into his SUV, killing his entire family on the highway. As the lone survivor of this terrible accident, Booth is forced to face the harsh reality that his family is gone forever as he grapples with his own history of murder and incarceration during the wild days of his youth.

When he finally gets home from the long road of recovery and the funeral of his family members, Booth tries to maintain his sanity. But in the aftermath of the accident, he finds his life quickly spiraling out of control. Despite the assistance he gets from his therapist, his boss and his friends in the Denver Police Department, Booth is drawn towards hatred and spite.

Using all the resources he has in law enforcement, Booth begins to research the man who crashed into their family SUV and he dwells on revenge. He spends long hours investigating the driver of the pick up truck and establishes a trove of data on the man and his extended family - even setting up cameras at their house for surveillance. In a state of paranoid derangement, Booth decides to take action and get revenge on the drunk driver by seeking out each member of his family, hunting them down one by one. He begins a duel life where during the day he is one person and at night time, he transforms into paranoid maniac, wandering the streets of North Denver while creating chaos and spilling the blood of his enemies.

Booth descends into a world of vengeance and into a fast-paced life of close calls and twisted redemption where he puts himself into dangerous situations and disregards his own safety as he attempts to right all the wrongs he has experienced. The juxtaposition between Booth’s character as a sad victim of tragedy plays against his actions as a cold blooded murderer, blurring the lines of morality and justice as the story builds. As he kills and kills again and evades capture each time, Booth decides that he will do anything to stop the voices in his head - anything except go back to prison.
