Civil Warter - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

Eight million people. No water. And someone planned it that way. When Timothy "Drip" Dallas, a veteran water resource engineer for New York City's Department of Environmental Water Sewer System, is jolted awake at 3 a.m. by the frantic call of his partner Greg, he has no idea his world is about to collapse. The water flowing from his faucet runs dark with toxins. Within hours, every pipe in the five boroughs is shut down-and the city of eight million begins its descent into desperation. As days pass with no answers from officials and a disturbing silence from his own employer, Timothy begins to suspect this is no accident. Hospitals ration emergency reserves. Bottled water vanishes from shelves. Neighboring states ban New Yorkers from purchasing supplies. The National Guard rolls in, but even their distribution efforts crumble under the weight of panic. Someone-or something-has engineered the unthinkable: a modern American city cut off from its most essential resource, with no timeline for restoration and no one willing to take responsibility. In a world where conspiracy and incompetence are indistinguishable, Timothy must decide how far he's willing to go to uncover a truth his own company seems desperate to bury. Because in Civil Warter, the real poison isn't just in the pipes-it's in the power structures that control them. And by the time the truth surfaces, it may already be too late.
