Traverse is one of five trillion Mysocks, a species with many different powers. He hunts through the fiery landscape of his home mega-planet Eco for crystals to power Mysock City, the huge underground home of the Mysocks. Then one day the entire species is attacked by terrorists. When his friend is killed in the escape he vows to find out more about the attackers that destroyed his home.

On the way he not only discovers more about the terrorists, but more about himself. He also learns of five crystals that, when united, will give the Mysocks more power than ever before. The king tasks Traverse with collecting them, though he may have more plans than it seems. Will Traverse be able to collect the crystals, and if so, what will happen to them?
