Understanding Tiamat (Understanding Deities) - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

Dive into the primordial depths of creation with Tiamat, one of humanity's oldest and most powerful goddesses.

Long before the rise of Babylon, before the temples of Greece, before the written word itself, the ancient peoples of Mesopotamia honored Tiamat, the primordial mother of the salt sea, the vast and untamed waters from which all existence emerged. Unlike the infernal spirits of the grimoires, Tiamat is not a demon to be commanded or a spirit to be bound. She is a primordial goddess, the source of creation, the embodiment of chaos transformed into creative potential, and the ancient mother who holds the wisdom of the deep within her eternal embrace.

This book offers a comprehensive and historically grounded exploration of Tiamat's mythology, her significance within Mesopotamian religion, and her relevance to contemporary spiritual practice. Drawing on the oldest available sources, including the Enuma Elish, it distinguishes carefully between the ancient goddess and her later interpretations as a dragon or monster, restoring Tiamat to her rightful place as a figure of immense creative power, transformative wisdom, and maternal sovereignty. The book provides detailed correspondences, rituals, meditations, dreamwork practices, and shadow work exercises for those who wish to develop a meaningful and respectful relationship with the primordial mother.

Designed for practitioners of witchcraft, paganism, and esoteric spirituality, this book offers a complete framework for working with Tiamat, including full invocations, communions, guided meditations, and practical exercises for embracing change, strengthening intuition, cultivating creativity, and developing emotional resilience. The approach is ethical, historically informed, and deeply reverent, honoring Tiamat's ancient traditions while adapting her wisdom to the needs of modern seekers.

Whether you are drawn to the mystery of the primordial sea, the power of chaos as a creative force, or the wisdom of one of humanity's oldest divine figures, this book will guide you into the depths of the inner ocean, where transformation awaits and the ancient mother of all creation offers her eternal guidance and love.
