“Al-Tamassuk al-Maktūb ʿan Zaygh il-Qulūb” or The Prescribed Firmness Against the Deviance of the Heart — is a work that arises from a place of concern and care for the Ummah, from an observation of the growing confusion and distortion of traditional belief circulating online and beyond. In response, this book has been authored to serve as a clear, structured, and authentic presentation of the traditional and sound creed of Ahlul Sunnah wal-Jamāʿah, rooted in the Book of Allah, the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ, and the understanding of the rightly guided predecessors and scholars of Islam throughout history. A central focus of this work is its adherence to the traditional understanding of Islamic Creed, free from any innovations or deviations. The title of this book was carefully chosen, with each word drawn from the Qur’ān itself. Allah praises those who “hold firmly to the Book,” referring to the Qur’ān, and warns against those who fall into error due to the “deviance in their hearts.” Thus, the purpose of this work is twofold: to clarify the pure ʿAqīdah of Ahlul Sunnah from the Qur’ān and Sunnah, and to make clear that denial of these core tenets constitutes a deviation of the heart— ultimately, a rejection of what Allah has revealed. It is intended that this book reaches the average Muslim— the working professional, the student, the homemaker— as a reference and refuge, and that it serves as a means to know clearly what a Muslim believes, and how to distinguish the path of truth from the pathways of doubt and deviation.
