18th Century Sabre and Smallsword!

Karl Timmlich was an artist and engraver, but is best known as a fencer whose services were in high demand in Vienna, where he had the extremely prestigious position of fencing-master for the Hungarian Noble Life Guards.(diplomatic couriers and escorts for the Empress). This volume presents translations of two manuals providing his methods for cut and thrust fencing on foot and from horseback and includes an extensive commentary by the Jerzy Miklaszewski, whose command of these sources provides a masterclass in how to contextualize historical fencing texts.

A must-have for students of sabre and smallsword!
