The state of New Jersey, located in the northeastern United States, is

ample resources for sustenance and trade. The Lenape were known for

However, with the arrival of European settlers in the early 17th
century, their way of life began to change dramatically. Over time,
they faced displacement, disease, and conflict as European settlers
encroached on their territory. Despite these challenges, the Lenape
people have maintained a strong cultural identity and continue to
contribute to the rich historical and cultural landscape of New Jersey
and the broader region. This paper provides an overview of the Lenape

settlers.
