The Stone of Wishes : An Urban Fantasy Adventure set in Berlin

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Every wish has a price. In Berlin, the city is already paying. In the roots of an ancient oak in Volkspark Friedrichshain, fourteen-year-old Leon Schneider finds a stone no bigger than a robin's egg. It is a deep, living blue, and it glows in his hand. When he wishes, without thinking, that he won't miss his shot, the ball curves into the net at an impossible angle. The stone grants wishes. It also takes something back each time. With his best friends Mira, who writes everything down, and Felix, who jokes to hide his fear, Leon makes three rules. But Berlin is already changing around them. The old World Time Clock at Alexanderplatz shows a city that doesn't exist. A red balloon turns blue. Reflections in shop windows start moving a heartbeat too late. And a thin, polite man with three small lights where his eyes should be wants the stone for himself.Only the old park keeper who feeds the crows knows the truth. She has guarded the oak for eighty years, and she knows what waits behind the glass of every mirror in the city. When one of the three friends vanishes into the reflections, Leon has only until the night the clocks go back. On that night, the hour between two and three happens twice and every door stands open. To bring his friend home, he will have to walk through the glass himself, and face the one wish he has never dared to say out loud.A magical, heartfelt urban fantasy about friendship, courage and the price of wishing, set in a very real Berlin. Perfect for readers of all ages who love mystery, adventure and a city that is only pretending to be ordinary. Artikel-Nr. 9798278490296
