It all began with a pink Barbapapa balloon accidentally released on the first of Sunday of Advent by my 3 year old daughter. To comfort a child's loss a story was spun: the balloon was travelling to Bethlehem sending letters home along the way. What started as make-believe became a family tradition, then a circle of shared-reflections and now this book.

Each day of Advent introduces a new companion - biblical figures, saints and seekers from all walks of life - all on their way to meet the newborn king. What began as a child's story has grown into a journey for all ages that brings the first Christmas back to life. Daily reflections based on the Scriptures to remind us it's never too late to begin the walk toward the light.

Included in the book are images of the biblical figues that can be coloured in to accompany you on your own journey.
