This book contains personal stories on the ownership, enjoyment, challenges and unplanned learnings caused by the availability in the 1960’s of low cost, used British cars. It covers the buying, driving, repairing and quirks of a selection of British marques the author ran into, including Hillman, Austin Healey, Triumph, Sunbeam and others that were bought cheap and repaired on tiny budgets. Most were eventually sold cheap, well before the current pricing for what are now considered vintage classics (typical lack of foresight for young “men”), demanding tens of thousands of dollars for a restored specimen.
