This set of stories is heavy on fishing business stories and water-based stories. I write Friday stories for my sisters, extended family, and friends. This is the second book in a small series of these short stories. I was raised on a farm in Iowa, spent more than 4 years as a Navy Corpsman with the Fleet Marine Force and on the USS Hornet, CVS-12, went to college after the Navy on the GI bill, and worked in the U.S. tuna industry for more than 50 years.

I would like to acknowledge my dearest wife, Mona Baumgartel, for story ideas, as she has heard most of them often over the years, and selflessly editing this work. I would like to acknowledge my dearest sisters for encouraging me to write and share my “Friday” stories and especially thank my sister Marilyn Joyce Hoffs for pushing me put these stories into a book.
