The year was 1873 a small wagon train with 18 covered wagons left Independence, Missouri bound for Tucson in the Arizona Territory. The folks onboard are looking for cheap and fertile land, wide open spaces to build a home and a new beginning in a wild and unsettled land. Among the travelers is a young Hispanic woman and her parents. She has just graduated from a women's college in St. Louis, Missouri where she earned a teacher's certificate and she is going to Tucson, Arizona where she is fulfilling her dream of teaching in a prestigious Catholic school for women only.
