The Fairy Master Capturi (The Alt-World Chronicles, Band 4) - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

The war for the Sanctuary is over. The war for the alt-worlds has begun. Five years ago, the Sanctuary survived its greatest battle. In the aftermath, the fight has spilled into the alt-worlds themselves. Under the command of an unlikely Master Capturi, specialized cavali teams now hunt the remaining assassi - rogue gods who escaped justice and continue to terrorize other worlds. Once a minor player in the Sanctuary's survival, Piper is now one of its most effective weapons. Bringing the assassi to justice has become her life's mission - but it's also her refuge. Because while she hunts, the fairies she left behind are floundering without a queen. And they want her back. What they don't know is the truth Piper is hiding - a secret that could turn her people against her. Can Piper hide the truth and lead her sisters by example? Or is she not a true fairy herself? Meanwhile, on an alt-world far different from the Sanctuary, Namenye of Oak has her own secrets, and Piper is in for a surprise... Dryads, naiads, and oreads - paranormals thought to be extinct - await Dax and Piper on this next alt-world. The assassi? She's a goddess of immense power and cruelty who has tormented these remarkable peoples for centuries. Her Devout are forced to sacrifice dryads for their magic. Oreads who've escaped the goddess live as refugees. Dryad knights patrol the border. Naiads cloud their waters to blind the goddess's all-seeing slave. With every sacrifice, the goddess grows stronger. Piper, Dax, Namenye, and their allies - old, new, and unlikely - must find a way to unite the natives, capture the goddess, and end lifetimes of war. The Fairy Master Capturi is Book 4 of The Alt-World Chronicles and the first part in The Assassi Reckoning Trilogy, continuing the story five years after the events of the first trilogy in the series. The war ended. Now, the reckoning begins.
