Lucy In Disguise As Demons (Starship Lucy, Band 2) - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

Captain Bryan Landry commands the sentient warship Lucy-a living starship with the mind of a teenage girl and the body of a powerful Polovian vessel. With a crew made up entirely of Earth's lost, orphaned, and runaway children, Lucy has become more than a ship: she's a refuge, a family, and the beginning of a new civilization. In this sequel to A Starship Named Lucy, the crew finds themselves orbiting a mysterious planet over two million light-years from Earth. Assigned a first-contact reconnaissance mission, Lizbet-Lucy's youthful and newly promoted Chief Communications Officer-is sent to observe the local population covertly. But when a ferocious alien beast threatens the life of a native boy named Moku, Lizbet breaks protocol to save him, exposing her identity and sparking an unexpected connection. Back aboard Lucy, Bryan faces new challenges of leadership, diplomacy, and an expanding "family" as more crewmembers seek bonds of love and belonging in their growing starbound society. With polygamy now common and cultural traditions merging, Bryan must balance duty, love, and the wellbeing of a crew that looks to him for guidance. Blending thrilling sci-fi adventure with deeply emotional moments and explorations of identity, Lucy in Disguise As Demons continues the saga of Earth's orphaned children who now find themselves the inheritors of an ancient alien legacy.
