The Y-Siccum virus has taken the lives of all humans containing the Y chromosome, including Johanna's husband and son. Humanity has begun adapting to the new reality, but Johanna struggles with acceptance. Lost in her grief and animosity, she begins to unravel. Johanna believes she is chosen to put the fear of God back in the hearts of her community. She begins murdering local lesbians (slackies).
