Honorable Mention - Writer's Digest Self-Published Book Awards, 2025

The story she heard was impossible. Not far-fetched. Impossible. Phoenician sailors crossing the Atlantic? Smuggling treasure into the Americas? And not just any treasure - the lost artifacts of the Temple of Jerusalem, missing since 70 A.D.? No. That doesn’t happen.

Dr. Vivian Guthrie knows that. She’s the director of the National History Museum. Her job is to separate evidence from fantasy, and this story is pure fantasy.

And yet, when a mysterious benefactor shows up with this claim, something makes her curious. Despite her skepticism, she can’t help herself but follow this mysterious and magnetic billionaire into the desert.

She agrees to follow him, partly to protect her own secrets, the quiet schemes that enabled her rise to the director’s chair.

What she doesn’t know is that the CDC’s lead virus researcher has disappeared, or that her role in this benefactor’s plan has nothing to do with history, and everything to do with power.

All Vivian knows is this: she’s looking at a stone in the New Mexico desert that has no business being there. And if it’s real, it doesn’t matter how impossible the story sounds.
