Kimmie Collins loves Indiana State University and is proud to be a Sycamore. She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, and couldn't imagine going to college anywhere else. She graduated from Indiana State University with a bachelor's degree in marketing in 2022. Kimmie will earn a master's degree in communication from Indiana State University in 2024. Kimmie loves to tell stories and drink coffee. When she grows up, she wants to be a writer and to share her love of Indiana State University. "Sam Becomes a Sycamore" is Kimmie's first book.

Katherine Bierly is a traditional artist and illustrator born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana. She received her bachelor's degree in art from Indiana State University and now works full-time as an artist. Katherine primarily uses watercolor and colored pencils for illustration, as well as oil and gouache paints for her fine art. "Sam Becomes a Sycamore" is Katherine's first book, and she is currently illustrating her third book.
