In today’s interconnected world, English teachers do more than teach a language―they equip students with the skills they need to communicate effectively and navigate diverse global contexts. This well-researched and practical text bridges theory and practice, helping teachers seamlessly integrate communication, mediation, and life skills into their everyday lessons. In this book, communication skills expert and teacher trainer Chia Suan Chong breaks down the key micro-skills essential for building global competence in young adult and adult students at all proficiency levels, and in any part of the world. Using clear examples, practical strategies, and engaging activities, both new and experienced teachers will learn how to develop their students' ability to communicate confidently and effectively beyond the classroom.
