Aesthetic knowledge is the glory of reality, fitting the intricacies of choice in their every conceivable variation, the rhythms of music and poetry, the lines and colors of visual art, as well as the building of communities which sustain life and the narratives of people making their way in the world. Aesthetic knowledge is as varied as all conceptual and physical objects, known in their state of constant change, along with the variations which do not change. Understanding is of all this, the symbolic connections that relate subjects and objects, which in the deft hands of artists make the world whole to observation, amusing us and informing us in the navigation of this world, blazing a path in the new age.

Dr. Albaugh’s series, entitled Epistemology, currently lists seven volumes. Aesthetic Knowledge is volume number seven. He is an independent philosopher, living in Des Moines with his wife, Lynda, and their animals. They have four children. He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy and taught philosophy for many years.
