Are the Pieces Finally Coming Together?
What Today’s World May Be Telling Us About Biblical Prophecy

Every generation has had people who looked at the events unfolding around them and wondered whether they were seeing the world described in biblical prophecy. Wars, political upheaval, the rise and fall of nations, and conflict surrounding Israel have caused Christians to ask the same question for generations: Are we watching prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes?

The problem is that prophecy has also attracted its share of wild predictions, failed dates, and people who seem determined to connect every morning's headline to the Book of Revelation. On the other side are those who dismiss any attempt to compare current events with Scripture as nothing more than speculation.

In Are the Pieces Finally Coming Together?, he takes a careful look at today's world with the Bible open beside him and asks a question that has stayed with him: Could we be watching the world move toward the circumstances under which biblical prophecy will one day be fulfilled? Not necessarily the fulfillment itself, and certainly not a prediction of the day or hour, but the possibility that the stage may be taking shape before the final actors ever enter the scene.

The book examines many of the nations, alliances, conflicts, and questions that have become central to modern discussions of biblical prophecy. It looks at Russia and the disputed connection to Magog, the long historical line connecting ancient Persia with modern Iran, the continuing significance of Israel, and the growing cooperation among nations that have increasingly found themselves standing on the same side of conflicts with Israel and the West. It also considers Turkey, China, North Korea, advancing technology, America's uncertain place in the prophetic picture, and the larger question of whether the world may be moving toward conditions Scripture described thousands of years ago.

Throughout the book, the reader is encouraged to make an important distinction between fulfillment, resemblance, preparation, and speculation. Not every similarity between an ancient prophecy and a modern event means that prophecy is being fulfilled. At the same time, the possibility of future fulfillment should not be dismissed simply because earlier generations made predictions that proved to be wrong.

The purpose of this book is not to tell you that the end of the world will happen next Tuesday. It is to encourage you to look carefully at both Scripture and the world around you, to test what you hear, and to decide for yourself whether some of the pieces that once seemed far apart may now be moving closer together.

Yet beneath all the discussion of nations, alliances, wars, and prophecy is a reminder that matters even more. Biblical prophecy was never intended to become an obsession or a substitute for faith. A person can become so consumed with trying to identify the next sign, the next nation, or the next headline that he forgets the One prophecy was meant to point toward.

The map is not the destination. Christ is.

Whether the events discussed in these pages lead to something that happens in our lifetime or generations from now, the responsibility of the believer remains the same: stay watchful, remain faithful, test what you hear against Scripture, resist deception, love the people God has placed in your life, and never allow your interest in prophecy to become more important than your relationship with the One who gave it.

After examining the evidence, considering the arguments on both sides, and following the connections between ancient Scripture and the modern world, the book ultimately leaves the reader with the same question with which it began.
