A father climbs into an old farm mech when the alarms scream across his land. Beyond the perimeter, a permanent rift has opened in the fallow fields, and four-legged alien beasts are coming through the rain. He has one task: hold the line between his family and the dark.

A mercenary commander leads the Hellhounds into an underwater research facility where the walls are slick with blood and the bodies are missing. Beneath the ocean floor, gateway experiments have opened a path to the Scorpio Cluster, and something armoured, mechanical, and hungry is crossing over.

A salvage pilot guides her husband through a corpse-haunted derelict ship from the safety of their tug. He whispers in the dark while she watches the maps, opens the doors, and listens as something blind, patient, and sound-hungry moves through the corridors towards him.

An alien narrator abducts a dying soldier and lovingly remakes her into a vessel. To mankind, it is violation. To the thing that takes her, it is preservation, reverence, and the beginning of a new communion between Earth and the stars.
