In the dust-choked frontier town of Blackwood Reach, the law is whatever’s left standing after the last gunfight. Then a seven-foot crimson Oni with sweeping horns and a pair of 20mm anti-materiel revolvers rides in out of the desert.
Tetsuo—known as the Red Devil of the Reach—only wanted a drink and a quiet place to nurse a headache. Instead he accidentally turns the town’s pompous sheriff into wall decoration with one poorly aimed swat at a horsefly. Local custom is clear: the man who kills the lawman inherits the star. Nobody is stupid enough to argue.
What follows is the most reluctant, foul-mouthed, and catastrophically effective term of office the territory has ever seen. Tetsuo is forced to deal with outlaw gangs, leaking demon-bound crates, a cult that starves entire towns, a soul-fueled ghost train, and finally an underworld arch-entity that treats the material world like an open invitation. All while trying—and spectacularly failing—to avoid paperwork, tiny human furniture, and the endless parade of people who think a badge makes them immortal.
Armed with guns that sound like localized thunder and a complete lack of patience for Western tropes, fragile humans, or municipal bureaucracy, the Red Devil of the Reach is about to redefine frontier justice one apocalyptic mess at a time.
Some lawmen uphold the peace. Tetsuo just makes sure there’s still a town left when he’s finished.
