She’s always loved the weather and storms- and watching meteorologist Amelia Winstead’s forecasts. When Amelia announces that she will be in Paducah for storm chasing exercises, Ellie gets excited. But when Amelia goes missing after chasing a tornado, Ellie was the last person to see her before she disappeared.

The press descends on the gas station convenience store where Ellie works, followed by the police. They all dredge up Ellie’s unhappy past and make news of items that Ellie would rather forget. But when the protracted search for Amelia turns up nothing, Ellie goes back to her storm chasing roots to try to find her.
