The Sky We Came Back To - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

Some people come into your life for a season. Others stay with you long after they’re gone.

In the fall of 1999, Ethan and Elise meet in an introductory meteorology class at Purdue University. He is a young pilot chasing a future in aviation. She is studying the weather, preparing for a life that will soon take her somewhere else.

Both of them already belong to someone.

What begins as a class project becomes something neither of them expects—a connection built in quiet conversations, lingering glances, and the kind of understanding that feels almost impossible to explain. Then, just as quickly as it begins, Elise leaves.

Life moves on.

Ethan builds a career in air traffic control, becomes a husband and father, and slowly lets pieces of the life he once imagined slip away. Elise follows a different path of her own. Years pass, and what happened between them becomes something neither fully forgets.

Then, twelve years later, beneath the crowded summer skies of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, Ethan sees her again.

One look is enough to bring everything back.

As old feelings collide with marriage, family, regret, and the lives they have built apart, Ethan and Elise are forced to confront a question neither could answer when they were young:

What do you do when the person who once changed your life suddenly walks back into it?

Set against the world of aviation, from Purdue flight training to the unforgettable skies of Oshkosh, The Sky We Came Back To is a story about first love, second chances, the choices that shape a lifetime, and the difficult difference between the life we imagine and the life we choose.

Some places change you. Some people bring you home.
