The Body at Pointe Noire - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

A body on black sand. A watch stopped at 11:42. An alibi almost too perfect.

At dawn on the island of Belle-Rivière, property developer Marc Delorme is found dead at Pointe Noire. His clothes are wet, his shoes are missing and his watch has stopped at the precise moment that appears to clear the most obvious suspect.

Inspector Maya Rivière calls on Adrian Morel, a former investigative journalist now teaching at the island's university. Together they follow a trail through a controversial resort project, concealed payments, a lawyer's secret and an old scandal Morel has never managed to leave behind.

Every clue seems to support one tidy answer. Then Morel asks the question the killer hoped no one would ask: why does the watch need to be believed?

The Body at Pointe Noire is a concise, atmospheric fair-play mystery and the first Island Files case, introducing an island where beauty hides old bargains and evidence can be designed to help.
