The Strange Case of Percival Jekyll and Mr. Hiss: A Feline Diversion - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

The best cat in London has a very bad side.

Percival Jekyll is, by universal agreement, an exceptionally good cat.

He is courteous to visitors, respectful of household furnishings, fastidious in his grooming, and devoted to his beloved human, Dr. Henry Jekyll.

Then one evening, something rather peculiar finds its way into Percival’s supper.

By day, he remains the very picture of feline virtue. But when darkness falls, another creature emerges.

Mr. Hiss.

A creature of magnificent appetites, questionable manners, and absolutely no respect for curtains, kitchen regulations, or the personal property of others.

As Dr. Jekyll conducts his increasingly disturbing experiments, Percival embarks upon a parallel adventure through the gaslit streets and shadowy alleys of Victorian London. There are stolen pheasants, outraged servants, dangerous encounters, mysterious transformations, and a certain grey lady of intriguing acquaintance.

But beneath the mischief lies a question that even Dr. Jekyll cannot answer:

Must we destroy the darker parts of ourselves—or can we learn to live with them?

Inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Gothic tale, The Strange Case of Percival Jekyll & Mr. Hiss is a wickedly funny, unexpectedly touching Victorian adventure about good cats, bad behavior, and the complicated business of being oneself.

Because even the best cat deserves an occasional night out.
