Inhaltsangabe

"To The Work! To The Work!" by Dwight Lyman Moody is a compelling call to action for Christians, urging them to engage actively in their faith and service to God. The text emphasizes the importance of removing obstacles, such as prejudice, that hinder spiritual revival and the spread of the Gospel. Moody argues that revivals are not a modern invention but have biblical precedents, citing examples from both the Old and New Testaments. He stresses that love should be the driving force behind Christian service, surpassing even prophecy and knowledge in importance. Love, according to Moody, is the key to reaching and transforming hearts, and it should be the foundation of all Christian endeavors. Moody also highlights the necessity of faith and courage in the Christian life. He asserts that faith is essential for pleasing God and achieving spiritual victories, drawing on examples from the Bible to illustrate how faith has historically led to miraculous outcomes. The text encourages believers to have a strong and simple faith, which can lead to personal and communal revival. Moody challenges Christians to rise above mere duty and serve God out of genuine love and devotion, which he believes will lead to more effective and lasting results in their spiritual work.
