Arguing that the lessons and the sense of resilience that can be gleaned from grief and mourning can lead to personal growth and understanding, Every Day I Bless You introduces the many lessons and truths that shiva&;the week-long mourning period in Judaism&;can offer by bringing readers into the house, the heart, and the mind of a grieving individual. In addition, the book offers essential and healing insights gleaned from the Hebrew Bible and current psychological thought on grief and bereavement. The overarching theme of this uplifting proposal is that, even in the midst of grief&;perhaps especially so&;God is near to the mourner, and that it is the grieving spirit that can lead an individual to a healing encounter with God.
