David J. Forman, author of the highly acclaimed Israel on Broadway; America Off-Broadway - Jews in the New Millenium (Gefen), is an internationally renowned human rights activist. Founder of Israeli Rabbis for Human Rights, he was awarded the prestigious Knesset Prize for "Peace, Tolerance and Democracy." He has served as a deputy-commander in the Israeli army, founded the Jerusalem Council for Soviet Jewry and he lectures and writes extensively on social, political and religious issues in English and Hebrew. He lives with his family in Jerusalem.
