It is necessary to point out that because of the huge volume of chess material the main lines of Queen's Gambit Declined (1.Nf3 d5 2.d4 e6 3.c4) is examined separately in book 5. In the present book we devote attention to such variations which arise with the move order, typical of both the Slav Defence and the Queen's Gambit Declined. the Botvinnik system(Chapters 16 and 17), the Moscow Variation (Chapter 18) and the Cambridge Springs defence (Chapter 19) belong to these constructions. In all that opening variations White often has to sacrifice material to obtain an advantage in development. Kramnik succesful playing in these systems gave a new impulse to their development and a result chess theory was extended.
