In 1882, E.H. Palmer published A Concise Dictionary of Persian-English. He was simultaneously working on its companion volume, i.e. A Concise Dictionary, English-Persian Together with a Simplified Grammar of the Persian Language. He died in 1882 and left behind his notes for the dictionary. These were completed and edited by G. Le Strange, and published in 1883.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Edward Henry Palmer (1840-1882) was an English Orientalist and Explorer. G. Le Strange (1854-1933) was a British Orientalist. He was a noted scholar for his work in the field of the historical geography of the pre-modern Middle Eastern and eastern Islamic lands, and was known for his edited works on the Persian geographical texts.
