The research findings presented in the book is output by various groups of researchers who participated in the two days national seminar on "Land Use and Bioresource Management for Sustainable Livelihood" in the Department of Environmental Science, Mizoram University. The contributions in this book are mainly focused on northern region of India which is the part of Indo-Burma biodiversity hotspot. As there is limited information available about bioresources of this region, the contributions of the researchers in this book will help in creating a baseline data particularly for data deficient region. Furthermore, it also aims to facilitate the researchers to undertake such studies at local to global levels for sustainable environment development program. It may also assist in imparting education, training and research for natural resources as well as policy formulation of environmentally sound, ecologically sustainable and economically viable management practices. Therefore, it will help researchers across the globe as well as the general public, policy makers, non-governmental organizations.
