V B Bhandari retired as Professor and Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune, Maharashtra. He has obtained BE and ME degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University, Maharashtra. Besides being a National Scholar, he has received multiple awards at Pune University, Pune, Maharashtra during his academic career. The author served as a professor in Pune University, Shivaji University, and Marathwada University, Maharashtra. His teaching experience spans over 38 years in Government College of Engineering at Pune, Karad, and Aurangabad in Maharashtra. He has authored two more textbooks, Machine Design Data Book and Introduction to Machine Design published by McGraw Hill Education (India) Private Limited. In addition, he has also published/presented twenty technical papers in national and international conferences and journals
