Ravi Shanker Kapoor holds a B.A. Mathematics degree from Hansraj College, Delhi University. As a journalist who has spent over 25 years in the profession, he has been associated with several newspapers such as The Financial Express and The Asian Age, and as a freelancer, he has contributed to Business Standard, The Wall Street Journal and The Indian Express, among others. Kapoor has also authored More Equal Than Others: A Study of the Indian Left (2000), a book about the huge intellectual influence communists enjoy. His second book, Failing the Promise: Irrelevance of the Vajpayee Government (2003), was about the failure of the BJP to provide a viable, rightwing alternative. The third one, How India's Intellectuals Spread Lies (2007), unmasks the doublespeak of luminaries like Jawaharlal Nehru, Arundhati Roy, Khushwant Singh, Kuldip Nayar, and Mani Shankar Aiyar.
