Rashim is the second among the three sons of Iqbal and Rasheeda. He was born at Mattancherry Government Hospital on 19th May 1987. He completed his school education at T.D. High School, Mattancherry, and E.M.G.H.S. Higher Secondary School, Fort Kochi. Through student politics, he became active in political, social, and cultural spheres. He worked for seven years at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, after marrying Sajin Ibrahim in 2011. They have two daughters - the elder one, Aisha, and the younger, Atithi. He is active on social media, often writing short stories and articles. Since 2015, he has been running a textile shop in Mattancherry."Kochi Mystic: The Secret of the Spirits" is his debut novel, the first in a five-part series telling the mysterious tales of Kochi's mystic souls.):
