Origen (185-254 AD) is regarded as a pivotal figure in the formation of Christian philosophy. He was a prominent early Christian philosopher and theologian. He was born in Alexandria, Egypt, and spent the majority of his life there, where he lectured and published extensively on a number of themes including theology, philosophy, and biblical exegesis.
