He is specialised in development administration, decentralised planning and state planning. He authored eleven books and several articles. Dr. Maniparna Syam Roy did her M.Sc. in Economics from Calcutta University in the year 2003 and Ph.D. in Economics from Jadavpur University in the year 2011. She is currently Assistant Professor of Economics in Asutosh College, Kolkata and also a Guest faculty of the Department of Economics, University of Calcutta.
