Urbanisation and Transformation of Rural Environment in Madhya Pradesh Urbanisation has been playing an important role in the transformation of social, economic and natural environment of rural areas. The influence of cities on rural areas gradually extends according to the role they play, depending on the size of the city and the pace of its growth. This book attempts to analyse the impact of urbanisation on the transformation of rural areas in India, with special focus on Jabalpur region of Madhya Pradesh.
