Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

At the Meertens Institute, Sief Barbiers is a senior researcher, Hans Bennis is director of the Meertens Institute and professor in Dutch linguistics at the University of Amsterdam, and Margreet van der Ham is a research assistant. Gunther De Vogelaer and Vicky van den Heede are postdoctoral fellows at the University of Ghent. Magda Devos is professor of Dutch linguistics at the University of Gent. Irene Haslinger works at the Royal Library in The Hague. Marjo van Koppen is a research assistant at Leiden University. Jeroen van Craenenbroeck is an assistant professor at the Catholic University in Brussels.

De 'Syntactische Atlas van de Nederlandse Dialecten (SAND)' geeft een gedetailleerd overzicht van de verrassend rijke syntactische variatie in 267 dialecten van het Nederlands aan het begin van de 21e eeuw. Op 200 kleurenkaarten wordt de geografische distributie van meer dan 100 syntactische variabelen getoond. Veel van deze variabelen zijn afwezig in de standaardtaal en daarom van groot descriptief en theoretisch belang. Bij elke kaart wordt een stateof- the-art taalkundige beschrijving gegeven van de afgebeelde variabele tegen de achtergrond van historische ontwikkelingen en de resultaten van modern syntactisch onderzoek.
